I'm Wendy Arscott, CEO of A New Leaf Counselling and I offer personal counselling and goal setting to adults over 21 who want to change their life situations. Are you feeling 'stuck', don't know what to do next but you don't want to remain where you are. Do you need someone to talk with, to discuss options, to look for new directions? I am here to listen and to help you. I also provide services to people diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome who require assistance in gaining social skills and maintaining fulfilling employment.
With over 20 years of direct experience working with people with autism and their families, there is an apparent gap in services for adults with autism. I liaise with employers in setting up work environments conducive to the inclusion of employees with Asperger Syndrome. With the prevalence rate of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) climbing to 1 in 110 according to recent reports there are a number of adults now being diagnosed on the autism spectrum and few supports readily available to help them.

Wendy is a counsellor, consultant and trainer with more than 20 years of experience in speaking and consulting to audiences from daycare settings to community agencies, colleges, and universities. With a Master of Education thesis on autism in post secondary education, she wrote a guide book for students on the autism spectrum. Wendy presents at conferences on structured teaching and work systems as well as on teaching play and transitions, in addition to Asperger Syndrome and post secondary education.
